A magnetic sign should not be applied to a newly painted vehicle. Allow at least 60 days for fresh paint to cure.
Always make sure that the surface where the magnet is to be applied is thoroughly cleaned to prevent damage to painted surfaces. Magnets should be applied to flat areas of a vehicle — avoid indentations or molding, as air will get underneath the magnet at high speeds, causing it to fall off on the highway.
When storing your magnetic signs, do not roll up or fold. Simply place them on the refrigerator or a filing cabinet (note: do not put on or too near a computer), or lay flat on a smooth surface. Don't leave your magnets inside your vehicle during warm weather. High temperatures can cause them to warp.
To clean magnets, wipe gently with a damp, soapy sponge — never take your magnetic signs through a car wash! To prevent moisture from getting trapped between the magnets and your car’s painted surface, make sure the back of the magnets and the surface of the car are thoroughly dry before re-applying the magnets. Also, periodically wash and wax the vehicle area where magnetics are placed.
